(Online Training) Subtle Body Chakra and Aura Dynamics

This Lesson (parts 1 & 2) explores one of the most fascinating and controversial topics in Integrative Wellness & Healthcare.  PART ONE - Compare & Contrast: Traditional Hindu, Buddhist, and Taoist Models of the Subtle Body.  PART TWO - Compare & Contrast: Traditional Models of the Subtle Body with Biofield of Science & New Age Models.

We will use a 3 Body model: Physical Body, Subtle Body, and Cosmic Body.  We will divide the exploration into 2 categories: 1) Yogic Subtle Body (Eastern) and 2) Energy Healing Subtle Body (Western).

Is the Subtle Body composed of material physical energy such as “electromagnetic” or is it composed of an entirely different type of non-material energy?  Have traditional, pre-scientific yogis and mystics had real personal experiences of the unknown material energy such as electro-magnetism, and mistakenly considered it to be some non-material dynamic force?  In the West, the notion of a vital force or élan vital dates back to the 1600s. In vitalism, the living matter was believed to involve a life force: a metaphysical entity intrinsic to life that renders it alive. In the West, the concept of Vitalism was essentially abandoned when electro-motive forces were discovered in certain physical cellular functions.  The term biofield was proposed in 1992 by an ad hoc committee of CAM practitioners and researchers convened by the newly established Office of Alternative Medicine (OAM) at the US National Institutes of Health (NIH).  The committee defined biofield as “a massless field, not necessarily electromagnetic, that surrounds and permeates living bodies and affects the body.”  So…is the Biofield: 1) Physical forces (like electro-magnetism) or 2) Metaphysical forces (like vitalism).  Does the Subtle Body = Biofield?
